Colt Model 1889 Civilian version of the 1889 New Model Navy. Serial number #5848 and assembly number 470 on crane, frame and cylinder. NOTE: bears the “70” instead of 470. Guns appears to be factory nickel and has very old very well fitted Ivory grips. Barrel length six inches. Note: The bottom of the grip strap measures 1 1/8” wide. Barrel address bears the correct address for the new model Navy. Literature indicates that the 6” barrel was for the U.S Navy 1889. This 6” barrel is correctly numbered to “Civilian Navy Revolver”
