Imported into the States in the early 1990's by the Navy Arms Co., these Norinco Model TU-33/40 .22 trainers are excellent little .22 rifles. Designed after the World War 2 Nazi trainers made during the mid to late 1930's, these bolt-action repeaters look just like a minature Mauser K98 rifle and feature a blued finish on the metal parts, a 5-round detachable box magazine, a 20" inch barrel with military-style sights, and a hardwood stock set identical to the K98. The TU-33/40 came from the factory with a grooved receiver for optics mounting, and an additional optics mount base mounted on the left rear side of the receiver. These little rifles are 38.5" inches in length overall, with a length of pull of 13.25" inches. The TU-33/40's size allows it to be shot comfortably by everyone from a full size adult to a young shooter just getting into the sport. This particular example is in very good all-original condition. The blue finish has a very nice look to it and shows only some light wear/age. The bore in this rifle is superb, bright and shiny with no pitting, erosion, or imperfections. The rifling is strong with sharp lands and grooves. The original stock set is in excellent condition and free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. The wood shows a few tiny handling marks but is clean and very attractive. All of the stock hardware including the barrel bands, butt plate, bolt take-down disc, and bayonet lug are intact and in excellent condition. All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order, and the bolt works smoothly and locks up tight. We have no doubt that this TU-33/40 will shoot just as well today as the day it left Norinco's factory in China. If you have been looking for a cool new addition to your .22 rifle collection, or if you have been looking for the perfect first .22 rifle for your child, this Norinco TU-33/40 would be an excellent choice.
