  • Moon sight
  • Blued finish with traces remaining in many areas especially sides of frame
  • U.S. martially marked on butt
  • Walnut grips, faint cartouche remaining
  • Patent dates Jan 17 & 24 65, July 11 65, Aug 24 69, July 25 71
  • Ejector and action are all tight
  • Wells Fargo & COS EX stamped on barrel flat and right side
  • One of the most notable purchasers of these model 3 Schofield revolvers was Wells Fargo and Company, who purchased the revolvers for use by Wells Fargo Road Agents and had the barrels shortened to a more concealable 5 inches length
  • L & P inspector marks on barrel underside
