This is a very RARE Winchester model 61,22 short,gallery rifle.This rifle has a 24 inch round barrel.The LINE MARKING IS IN FRONT OF THE REAR SIGHT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BARREL with no marking on the right side.Round barrel rifles chambered for short only are scarce and being a gallery rifle makes it very rare.Some information about this rifle was found in the book Winchester 61 by C.H.Key.In over sixty years of collecting Winchester model 61's I have only seen two of these rifles.Bright shiney bore,no rust or pitts on metal surfaces,adjustable rear sight,metal butt plate.The serial number indicates it was made in 1951.
