Description:
General Specs: Ithaca, Year 1914, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, Chokes IC/M, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 5/8"
Serial Number: 263807

What a great, affordable upland bird/clays gun we have here…a Flues Model made in 1914 in factory original condition, retaining 97% vivid factory case color, 96% blue, mirror bores, and weighing in at just 6lbs. 6oz. with its long 30” fluid steel barrels choked IC/M.  This is one of those hard to find guns that have never been touched and well cared for for the last 105 years.  The Ithaca Flues Model was Ithaca Gun Co.’s most successful model offering, being manufactured unchanged from 1909 to 1926 when the NID model was introduced.  The Flues Model had a solid and reliable action and usually was a very lightweight and well-balanced shotgun, as this gun is.  It is not often you find an American vintage double shotgun with 30” barrels weighing just over 6 1/4lbs.!  The barrels have a minimum wall thickness of 32 thousandths, tight ribs, and the barrels are tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun.  Just look at the photos and you will recognize that this gun has not been shot to death like most Field Grade guns.  It is nice to be able to buy a nice looking, fully functional, vintage American 16 bore for an affordable price and have it ready to go with no work or repairs required.  The stock is nicely figured, without cracks or repairs, retains excellent factory checkering, and the stock dimensions of        14 1/8 x 2 ½” x 1 5/8” x neutral cast are surprisingly modern and shootable.  There is nothing not to like about this fine Ithaca and the long barrels and high condition make her special.  Don’t hesitate or she will be gone at such a fair price.  Thanks for looking!
