Description:
The Weatherby Mark V Varmintmaster rifle was introduced in 1963 as a lightened and scaled down version of the standard Mark V.  This was acheived by reducing the size of most of the standard Mark V parts by 20%.  It featured a 5-round internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, a 2-position bolt-mounted safety, and was factory drilled and tapped for optics. The Mark V Varmintmaster was made in West Germany for a total of 9 years from 1963 to 1972.  This rifle is chambered in the very sought-after .224 Weatherby Magnum. The bore in the 24" inch sporter style barrel is excellent.  There is no visible pitting or erosion, and the rifling still looks prominent and sharp. There are some very minor handling/storage marks/dings in the wood but nothing that stands out.
