Description:
1914 vintage Colt 1911 Commercial fitted with a 5 inch barrel, double diamond walnut grips, fixed sights, flat mainspring housing with lanyard, two-tone 7-round magazine with lanyard, polished blue finished, and chambered in .45 ACP.  This particular 1911 Commercial is stamped "HcH"; "CAPT HC HEITMEYER"; "U S INFANTRY"; and "AEF" on the right side of the slide.  Capt. Harry C. Heitmeyer was originally from Cincinnati, OH and served in Company G of the 2nd Pioneer Infantry during WWI.  The 2nd Pioneers Infantry were attached to the III Corps in the A.E.F..  The pistol is in excellent original condition, retaining 60% of its original polished blue finish, with most loss due to flaking, holster use, and handling wear.  The bore is in good condition, with strong rifling, but some corrosion in the grooves.  The action functions perfectly.  The grips are in very good condition, with even wear and some wear of the checkering, mostly on the bottom of the grips, and no cracks or chips.  The magazine is in very fine condition, retaining much of its original blue finish.  Comes with a 1918 dated holster, which is in fine condition, no tears or pieces missing, only a small area of stitching loss on the backside.   Also comes with a short history of Capt. Heitmeyer and the Infantry Unit he served with.                                PRICE:   $4,750              We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.                    PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Have a Individual FirearmFirearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you.                      NOTE:  No additional Fee for Credit Card Purchases.
