Description:
Winchester 1892 rifle, antique serial range, in desirable 44 WCF (44-40) caliber with special order 26" full octagon barrel 2" longer than standard, full magazine and crescent butt. Overall metal is gray. Stocks are sound with no extra holes and no cracks, slight loss at right upper tang, have been cleaned lightly but not refinished. Bore is good/shootable with consistent rifling as well as typical scattered black powder oxidation. Smooth action and half-cock safety. Original front and rear sights with later thumb print style elevator. Cody records confirm configuration, show the serial # applied and rifle warehoused in August 1895; shipped January 1896. Copy of email sheet will be provided to buyer. Not many 1892s had extra long barrels, especially one only 2" longer than standard.
