JP Sauerson Model 280 Prussian SXS 12 GA, 30" Krupp Steel tapered concave matted rib bbls, smooth shiny bright bore, chocked IMPMOD .026 - IMPMOD .025, single silver bead, border engraved at breach end, Anson & Deely scalloped box lock action, Greener cross bolt with double locking lugs - side clips, Engraved in 30%-40% Germanic scroll, "SAFE" is relief engraved on tang, auto-safety, extractor, double triggers with scroll engraved trigger guard, stocks are european walnut with fiddleback figure, 22 LPI checkering, splinter forend with enlayed horn tip, deely & edge latch with scroll engraved iron, pistol grip stock with unengraved silver shield inlay, and horn butt plate. 14 1/8" LOP, 2 7/8" DAH
Metal: 30% - 40% case color, 80% barrel blue with shallow surface rust spots, engraving is nice and sharp. Most screw slots are very good.
Wood: 80% - 90% oil finish with a couple gouges. Checkering is nice and sharp.
Serial # 116868 Made in Prussia circa 1918.
