Description:
One of the seven variations of the small frame Pocket Model Conversion from percussion to cartridge, this is a type II. It utilizes the 1862 Pocket Navy frame and cylinder, and the 62 Pocket Police barrel. Of the total 7,800 of this type, 5,400 were newly made from un-numbered parts, and 2,400 from previously finished percussion revolvers. This gun, serial number 42045, was one of the latter. It is chambered in .38 RF caliber. Showing the wear of hard use use, the gun is still mechanically excellent and it is fitted with factory original one piece ivory grips. All serial numbers match and approximately 20% of the original nickel finish remains-an antique Colt with a lot of character.
