Barrel and lug forged in one piece.
Maker's (owlhead) rubber buttplate.

CHAMPION shotguns are of amazing craftsmanship.
This from 1940's ad: "A three piece take-down gun with genuine Black Walnut trap style fore-arm and stock with Full Pistol Grip. Barrel is highly polished and nicely finished, and frame case hardened.
