Extras: Exclusive Animal Engraving on the sidelocks, pheasants on the left side, ducks on the right. Fine scroll engraving as fill. Very fine checkering and ebony inlays on stock and forearm. Horn trigger guard. Fitted Leather Case.
Description: This Bernhard Merkel Suhl model 126E is a very rare Sidelock
S X S Shotgun made in 1925. It was originally a 16 ga. 2 ½ in. but had the chamber bored out to 2 ¾ in 1965 It is a very fine example of German craftsmanship. LOP is 14 1/4 inches. Weight is approx. 7.6 lbs. This Sidelock
S X S has very nice exclusive engraving on the side locks with 4 pheasants on the left side, 4 Ducks on the right side. Fine scroll engraving as fill. 30.7 in. 16/70 and 28 in 20/70 Barrels.
There are NO importer’s markings anywhere on the gun.
Today's value is in excess of $ 35.000.
This is truly a great value for an investment or just a beautiful gun to hunt with.
This is a fine gun for any collection. It will definitely make some collector or shooter very happy.
