Here is a very nice Savage 1899A in an unusual configuration. It is the "Short Rifle" with a 22" barrel in an uncommon caliber for Savage rifles, .25-35. With the new Hornady ammunition the .25-35 is a serious deer cartridge now. This rifle was made before 1922. It has a nice bore, a few hunting dings on the straight stock, and the special 99 receiver sight. Schnabel forearm. Overall a nice looking rifle that is of handy size and in an effective deer caliber with modest recoil. These early 1899s are becoming very collectible as well. Requires either an ffl or your C&R. $50 shipping and insurance via priority mail.
