Griffin & Howe Sport Rifle .30-06 caliber rifle. Beautiful and unusual Griffin & Howe carbine with full length mannlicher stock. Bore is excellent. This very fine carbine has all the Griffin and Howe features. Barrel has an unusual rib that is wide from mid-barrel to receiver and narrow from mid-barrel to just behind the elevated ramp where it widens again. Rib and barrel contours are done in the German style of the 1920’s. Receiver ring is finely stippled to reduce glare. 1903 Springfield action has a Lyman receiver sight. Bolt knob has G&H knurling. The floorplate assembly is expertly game scene and scroll engraved. The trigger guard is engraved en suite and has gold initials inlaid. The Jaeger style buttplate is finely checkered and has engraved floral accents. The buttplate door opens to reveal a metal tube cleaning kit and space for extra rounds. The stock has a horn pistol grip cap. And horn forend tip. Stock is fitted with sling studs. Stock is about excellent with checkered pistol grip and forend. Serial by G&H #408. Most Griffin and Howe guns are rifles. They made carbines but very few in comparision. Very fine custom Griffin & Howe.
