Description:
This is one of Mauser’s many post-war bolt action rifles. The Model 3000 essentially uses the Mauser 98 as a basis but uses the Mauser 91’s bolt face and extractor. Thusly, it is a push-feed design like the famous Remington 700 rather than the control-round feed (CRF) of the 98. However, by comparison, its extractor is much larger than that found on the 700. As such, the Model 3000’s extractor is much more likely to reliably extract a fired case under difficult conditions than the 700. The 3000 retains the majority of is finish, which is a very high gloss blue. The only real evidence of prior ownership on this rifle is the minor wear present on the stock, which is shown in the pictures. This mainly consists of minor marks or dings. The stock itself is a Monte Carlo style with white line spacers. The recoil pad is a brown ventilated style. The 3000 is equipped with both iron sights and a Nikon 3-9x40mm scope. This gives the shooter the option of using the given scope or removing it and using the basic iron sights. The 3000 is chambered for the famous and long-popular 270 Winchester, which has been used to hunt everything from coyote to elk. This rifle would be suitable for a wide variety of game and can be very useful for hunting in open plains where the shooter is able to take advantage of the 270’s long range capabilities.
