No returns Payment Types Accepted: Cashiers Checks, Wire Transfer,Cash (in person) Description: This is a beautiful little gun. It is demunitive in size but has adult demensions. 32 ga. guns of any type are rare, they we re never popular because they are too close in size to the 28 ga. A few American makers produced them in the early days, Harrington-Richardson was one of them. Most were made in Europe. This example was made in Leige Belgium. Early Belgium guns sometimes have a poor reputation. This was because many Belgium companies flooded the USA market with cheap poor quality shotguns before the turn of the century. Some were marked with similar names to the Famous makers. One example is the name W. Richards, trying to mimic the fine firm of Westly Richards. These guns sold at the neighborhood hardware store for 10-15 dollars. This gun is excellent quality. I won't say it would compare with a British double but it would equal the quality of many guns sold today from places like Turkey. I believe this gun is Peiper-Bayards second highest grade. Besides being rare for production rates, this gun is rare because of condition. It is almost "factory new". All finishes rate 98% or better, and the finishes are original. This gun would be great for "Vintage Clays". I think they have a special class for small bore hammer guns such as the 28 ga. You will amaze your competitors when you walk up to the line with this gun. Here are the Specifications: 32 gauge 27.5 inch barrels. Chokes, not sure, have no gauge to measure (bbls stamped 127 on rear of tubes) the right bbl, first trigger appears to be more open than the left. Wall thickness, I do not have a gauge but I believe it to be just as it left the Factory. Weight is 5.5 pounds. LOP is 13 & 3/4 inches from front trigger. Chambers are 2 and 1/2 inches. Lock-up is like new, on face, no movement with or without the forend attached. Locks are crisp. Original Horn Buttplate Anson type forend release Sling swivels have been removed, but thankfully the holes have not been filled. I do not have the original swivels, but the man in the UK who owned the gun before me has them. Frankly, swivels detract from the appearance of any fine shotgun. I bought this gun from Holt's in the UK. The gun was originally exported from Belgium to the UK. It is stamped (England) in 2 places on the gun. I have included 20 photo's with this ad including one with a comparison (side by side) shot of a light weight 12 ga gun, this clearly shows how small the frame of this gun is. 32 ga. Shotgun shells are readily available from Fiocchi. I can include some with the sale, provided the buyer pays me my cost plus shipping. These shell are not outrageously expensive. Shipping to your FFL is $50. This gun was made sometime after 1900 so it will require an FFL or Curio & Relic License. I have priced this gun reasonably considering its rarity and condition. Price is $4500. If you have any questions please call Jim at (248) 266-6494 (MI) SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
