Originally manufactured in 1981, this Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight rifle in .30-06 Springfield caliber has apparently spent it's entire life in storage. This rifle is absolutely beautiful and comes complete with the original box, owner's manual, and warranty card. It appears to be unfired since leaving the factory, and outside of a few tiny handling/storage marks this rifle is like-new. This Model 70 XTR Featherweight features a factory gloss-blue finish on all of the metal parts, a 22" inch barrel with no iron sights, a factory jeweled bolt body, a factory drilled and tapped receiver, a 5-rd internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, and a deluxe checkered Walnut stock with a factory-applied recoil pad and sling swivel studs. The length of pull on this Model 70 is 13.75" inches to the end of the pad, and the weight of this rifle unloaded and without optics/bases is a little under 6 pounds and 9 ounces. This Winchester rifle is extremely well-made with top-quality materials and displays excellent fit and finish. The Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight has earned an excellent reputation over the years for being very reliable and extremely accurate, while still displaying the classic good looks of blued steel and Walnut. This particular example retains 99% of the original gloss blue finish and has a perfect mirror-bright bore with sharp rifling. The jeweled bolt body is still bright and beautiful, with no scratches or wear showing. The factory checkered Walnut stock is extremely attractive and like-new. One has to look extremely close to find even a 1% deduction from the stock. The checkered panels are all clean and crisp with no wear showing, and the stock is free from any chips, cracks, or repairs. The factory-installed Winchester-branded recoil pad and the sling swivel studs are perfectly fit to the stock, and they are nice and tight to the wood. All of the controls on this Model 70 are in 100% perfect working order, and the action on this rifle is smooth and precise. Whether you have been looking for perfect Model 70 XTR Featherweight to add to your collection as an investment, or you have been looking for a classy and beautiful new hunting rifle to carry afield, this 1981 Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherwieght would be an excellent choice. You just can't get Winchesters these days that are this nice AND made in the U.S.A.
