If you have been looking for a rare Ruger Model 77 "tang safety" rifle in exceptional condition for your collection here it is! This is an unfired and minty Ruger M77 "ST", otherwise known as a "ROUND TOP". Ruger experimented a little by making some of their flagship Model 77 rifles with round receiver tops rather than the standard type with the integral ring bases. Intended for those shooter's that just "had to have" seperate bases and rings, the M77 ST was drilled and tapped for Remington Model 700 bases. Needless to say, it was a commerical flop and Ruger's production of the M77 ST was both short and very limited. Today these rifles are rarely encountered in the collectible market and typically are used in average to good condition. This exceptional 1982 vintage Ruger Model 77 ST in .30-06 Springfield is spectacular! It has spent it's entire life in storage, never having been fired since leaving the factory. It comes complete with the original box with the serial-numbered end label and the original owners' manual. This Ruger Model 77 has a factory gloss-blue finish on all of the metal parts, a factory drilled and tapped receiver, a 22" inch barrel with factory iron sights, an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, a tang-mounted safety, and a checkered deluxe American Walnut stock with factory-installed sling swivel studs and a red Ruger-branded recoil pad. The factory blue finish rates 99%, with no wear, scratches, or blemishes. The bore is mirror-bright and pristine, with no visible imperfections whatsoever and perfect rifling. The factory bright polished bolt is beautiful and like-new, with no wear or stains showing. The bolt face is perfect, with no evidence of having been fired or cleaning. The factory Walnut stock is like-new and beautiful. The checkered panels are crisp and pristine, and the factory installed recoil pad and sling studs are in perfect condition. The stock rates 99% with no cracks, chips, or repairs. You have to look extremely close to find anything at all to justify even a 1% deduction. All of the controls on this rifle are crisp and like-new, and the action is smooth and precise. The internals of this Ruger are just as clean and free from wear as the exterior. This is really a cool Ruger M77 that is worthy of any serious Ruger gun collection. It would be essentially impossible to upgrade from this spectacular and rare Ruger Model 77 ST.
