WWI-era Inspector Marked 1911 Government Model
Here we present a Colt Model of 1911 U.S. Army Pistol, made in 1918 in Hartford, Connecticut. John Moses Browning’s famous pistol was adopted by the U.S. government in 1911 and attained iconic status throughout both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam and beyond. This one was made in the last year of The Great War and was in a family for decades and was spectacularly preserved.
The overall condition is fine. The metal surfaces bear 97% of the original blue finish and clear markings. The double diamond grips are in nice shape. The bore is sharp and bright. The action is excellent. Here is a fantastic Colt 1911 from World War I!
