Description:
Smith & Wesson Military & Police (M&P) in .38 Smith & Wesson Special. A Post War and Pre-Model 10. Features a 5" pinned barrel, 5 screw frame, square butt, checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions. Weighs 30 Oz. (1 Lb. 14 Oz.), Serial Number: S 857366, indicates 1946/47 manufacture date. This model with "S" pre-fix and serialized S811338 - S999999 was manufactured from 1945 to 1948 (per Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson book).

Caliber Info: .38 S&W Special.
Chambers: 6 Chamber cylinder.
Metal Condition: Very good overal but the top strap shows remanant of rust frosting (see last photo), and some wear to end of the barrel and bottom of triggerguard.
Wood Condition: Good with some aging and dings to the bottom of the right grip panel (see 3rd photo).
Bore Condition: Very good pluse bore with sharp lands and grooves. Cylnder chambers are in very good plus condition as well.
Barrels: 5" Barrel.
Triggers: Double/single action.
Stock: Checkered walnut with S&W medallions.
Weight: 1 Lbs. 14 Oz.
