RARE CIVIL WAR U.S. BALL U.S. CONTRACT .50 RF CAL. REPEATING CARBINE CA. 1865. 7 shot repeating carbine with 20 ½” barrel and fully U.S. Government Ordnance inspected including a very crisp stock cartouche on the left wrist behind the saddle ring bar. Original front and rear sights. Frame stamped “E.G. LAMSON & CO./WINDSOR, VT./U.S./BALL’S PATENT/JUNE 23, 1863/MAR.15, 1864”. Only 1002 manufactured. 100% original and fine overall. Barrel with most of the original blue and frame with greying original case hardening. Excellent screws. Stock and forend with the original finish. Extra nice legible cartouche. Excellent bore and perfect working order.
