CAVALRY CARBINE CIRCA 1862. 21” round barrel with factory front and rear sights. 100% original to the last screw and in very nice condition. Lock plate stamped “STARR ARMS CO./YONKERS, N.Y.”. Upper tang stamped “STARR’S PATENT/SEPT 14TH, 1858”. Fully U.S. Ordnance inspected with barrel stamped “LAB” at the left breech for LT. COMMANDER LESTER A. BEARDSLEE who also inspected Starr Navy revolvers. Stock stamped behind the sling ring with a visible but illegible Ordnance Inspector’s cartouche. Nice patina overall with crisp markings. Original finish on the stock and forend. Working order and excellent bore with well defined rifling. $2900.
