EXCELLENT CIVIL WAR MASS. ARMS CO. MAYNARD 2ND MODEL PERCUSSION U.S. CAVALRY CARBINE. .50 caliber 20” round barrel. 20,000 ordered by the U. S. Ordnance Dept. in 1863-4. Saw service in many Federal Volunteer Cavalry Regiments. Excellent markings and all the correct U.S. Ordnance inspection stamps. Superb example with nearly all the original blue and case hardening. Excellent and all original screws with much original blue as well. Stock with nearly all the finish and two very nice legible Ordnance Inspector’s cartouches. Excellent bore and perfect working order. Has seen only modest use. Superior example.
