This is an interesting pistol with a lot of honest wear. The pistol was carried quite a lot, the grips are worn smooth but not cracked or chipped. The right grip is worn very smooth. The left grip is worn, but, not as much. This pistol also has 13 small cuts (notches), for what? Could be 13 years as the Sheriff, 13 cattle drives or 13 Bad guys...??? The pistol is marked with a small “W” on the breech face where the hammer hits. The barrel is marked “ COLTS PT F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” “ .32 W.C.F. “ The left side of the pistol is marked “PAT. SEPT.19,1871., and directly below, “JULY 2, 72.JAN. 19.75.” and next to those makings is a prancing Colt logo in a circle. Nice and curious piece of turn of the century history. I only can guess what the 13 file marks are? Please look at all photos, call if you have any questions, and thanks for looking.
