Description:
This is a very nice Colt SAA Cavalry Model 1873, Cal. 45 Colt. S# 73467. Bbl. 7 1/2". Six shot fluted cyl. Black powder frame marked "U.S." on left side. "D.F.C." inspectors marks are found on bottom of bbl., cyl., frame forward of S# & butt of grips. Bbl. has "P" sub-inspectors mark. Bbl., frame, cyl. & grip straps have matching numbers. 1 Piece walnut grips w/ legible cartouches on both panels & 1881 date on left panel. This comes with a Colt Mfg. Co. letter stating the following information: "Serial Number: 73467 / Caliber: .45/c / Barrel Length: Not Listed / Finish: Blue / Type of Stocks: Not Listed / Sold To: United States Government / Delivered To: U.S. Government Inspector / Address: located at the Colt plant / Date of Shipment: October 21, 1881 / Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 150". The finish of the metal has gray/brown coloration from touchup finish. Grips have added finish over wear & scattered light marks. Action has light spring tension. Some action screws appear to be replacements. Very Good bore retains intact rifling showing some light pitting.Buyer Pays $20.00 shipping to the lower 48 states.
