Description:
German made, pre WW II Meffert - HUBERTUS (Suhl) Drilling 16ga X 16ga X 8x57 JR, 2 ½” chambers, 26 ¾” barrels, choked 1/1 (F) , 1/2 (M). Manufactured Feb 1927. Overall length 43 ½” including pad, LOP 14 ½”, DAC 1 ½”, DAH 2 ¼”. Boxlock withcrossbolt, black case hardened receiver, extractors, double triggers, front set trigger, cocking indicator, tang barrel selector, side safety button, sling swivels. Drilling has a switch-activated "flip-up" rear sight for the rifle and also a quick detachable & clear W. Bischoff (Germany) 4x36 “Dinox” scope contemporary to the drilling. Nicely figured Walnut stock, European cheek piece, checkered pistol grip with carved horn plate. Bores are good, nitro proved, action is tight as new. An extremely attractive German drilling in excellent conditions, handmade during the Golden 1920s when the quality was high and top workmanship still required. A piece of history still usable today!
