This Colt was produced in 1883. The pistol's serial number is 96041. It is correctly U.S. marked on the frame. David F. Clark (D.F.C.) is the government inspector for this time frame. This Colt was also inspected in shop by John E. Greer ( G ) who was a ordnance inspector during this time. The factory letter states that this Colt was sold to the United States Government. It was delivered to the United States Government inspector located at the Colt plant August 10th 1883 with 150  other pistols. This Colt is in it's original condition. It has not been restored or redone. The original hammer has all of the cocks intact with no damage or recutting. The timing is very fine and distinct. The action is in excellent condition.
