This Colt was produced in 1919. The pistol's serial number is 616616. This Colt is one of the last of the World War One war time contract pistols to be produced. It has the standard 1911 military configuration of that time. This Colt shows no service use. This pistol also shows hardly any shooting or being fired. The brushed service bluing was known for it's weak finish.. Most of the original bluing is intact! There are some areas of flaking on the top of the slide. The slide bluing would rate a 85% overall condition. The frame bluing would rate a 88% overall condition. The bore is in minty condition. The barrel has the correct HP on top of the ejector port. The magazine is the correct military two tone magazine. The original grips are in very fine condition. All the pistol's parts are correct for this serial number range and production date. This pistol has the usual high edge holster wear and light blue loss around the grip area. This Colt is in far above condition for a military pistol. To find a late production Colt in this condition is a real find! Most of these Colts went on to serve in World War Two. They went through up grades and arsenal rebuilds during that time. This pistol is in it's original condition as it left the Colt factory in 1919. For collectors of odd serial numbers This Colt has one! It repeats the first three letters again for the second set. to make the pistol's serial number. This is a very nice condition Model 1911 for the military collector as well as the Colt collector!
