Description:
NEW PRICE TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THIS GREAT GUN!!  Make an offer!   New York importers Von Lengerke and Detmold brought this fine Sidelock to the US in 1903, and sold it as a recorded "Cash" sale in 1904 in NYC.  It is a very well balanced "no cast" gun suitable for either a right hand or left hand shooter.  The watertable, barrel flats and forend all have the same serial numbers, so I think it is safe to say it is all original.  The gun shows some usual wear signs but as you can see from the photos it is in really nice shape for a 116 yr old!  The action is double underbolt with dolls-head exension. The barrels show some light spalting and minor bluing loss, but are bright and shiny down the bores and the chambers, and it features a shaded rib. The standing breech and barrels are tightly on face and the action is crisp.  The gun patterns nicely at 40 yards with both barrels.
The finely figured walnut stock is oil finished and showing only minor wear for it's age.
Comes with a vintage Leg-O-Mutton case.  The case has been well traveled and has replacement straps, but it suits the gun nicely!

JUST MADE A $200 PRICE REDUCTION, SO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK!

All in all a very, very nice sidelock vintage Sauer. And how often do you see a quality sidelock in this price range!
