H&R “Young America” BLACK POWDER C&R Revolver
Turn of the Century HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON Pocket Revolver
Here we present a Harrington & Richardson Young America .22 Rimfire Double Action First Model, Third Variation Revolver, made circa 1897 to 1904 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Third Variation is identified by having an octagon barrel, a blue trigger guard, and company name and address on the left side of the barrel. It is a small frame, .22 rimfire 7 shot revolver. This revolver came in barrel lengths of 2, 4 ½, and 6 inches. This was a very successful revolver with a long production from 1884 to 1941. It made a great companion in the early 20th century, a time that included the Great War, violent labor strikes, racial tensions, gangsters, Prohibition and the Roaring 20s.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a light gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The hard rubber grips are in great shape. The bore is clear and bright. The action on this revolver is nonfunctioning.
