The Buffalo Bill Museum "Worksheet" that will accompany this rifle provides the following description at the time it was shipped from the factory: WINCHESTER MODEL 1894-SERIAL NUMBER 47724, Type: Rifle, Caliber: 32/40, Barrel Type: Round, Trigger: Plain, Received into the Warehouse on: October 26th, 1898, Shipped from the Warehouse: October 27th, 1898, Order Number 12560, R&R: None. Overall condition of this rifle is verygood to fine. The barrel and magazine have retained 60-70% with the remainder toning to a nice even patina. The bore is very good with strong rifling and shine. The bore will rate a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. Faded case colors can be seen on the hammer and lever. The receiver has retained approx. 70% of the original factory blue with a tight, smooth and mechanically perfect action. Wood to metal fit is perfect with a small sliver missing at the right lower tang. The stocks have retained 60% of the original factory varnish.
