Description:
PRICE REDUCED - This rare prewar gun remains in superb untouched original condition with its original numbered shipping box.  Made in .22S., L., and LR. it has a 24″ rnd bbl, 3/4 magazine, full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with plain pistol grip and checkered steel buttplate. Forend is of the early short type with 11 grooves. Bbl made of Winchester proofed steel, model, trademark and Cal. designation rolled on left side by rear sight. “WP” proof is struck on top of bbl and receiver. Right breech of bbl is rolled with Winchester address. SN appears on lower front of receiver adjacent to matching number on trigger guard. Receiver tang has provision for sight. Accompanied by orig Winchester cardboard shipping box with end label matching this rifle. Orig craft paper wrap has been neatly folded and is inside. Wrap has paper tag with SN of rifle written in ink.  Overall, the gun is in extremely fine all original condition. The barrel retains 99.99% bright original blue finish with a couple of tiny and very light scratches on bottom toward muzzle. Operating bar shows slight scuff mark. Bbl shows two forearm scuff marks at breech. Receiver retains 99% original blue finish with slight high-point wear on top. Rifle was not assembled. Stocks are extremely fine with only a few tiny handling marks which can be expected on a real unmolested 80 year old gun. Box is very good, intact with small piece missing on one side of lid. End label is frayed, slightly dirty but legible.

This is an extremely rare gun with an authentic box, not one of the many reproduction boxes we see so often nowadays.  If you have been searching for a great and real early Model 61, look no further.  The gun is priced at $3395 plus shipping to your FFL.  Please dont hesitate to contact me with any questions on the gun via PM on this site or at (704) 280-2382.  Thanks for looking!
