U.S. Springfield 1875 Trapdoor Officers Model Type III. Rare Springfield Officers model 1875 Trapdoor rifle. Only 477 are known to have been made. Rifle is near excellent. Barrel has a brown patina mixed with bluing. Lock, hammer and breech block have beautiful case coloring. Butt plate does show storage wear on metal. Stock is excellent has a sharp cartouche dated 1885. Beautiful rare firearm!
