SOLD *** BRILEY CHOKE SYSTEM *** The Franchi Custom Shop was long the envy of the Italian gun trade for the high quality of their manufacturing and engraving. Recently purchased by Beretta the Franchi custom shop workers now run the custom shop for Beretta! *** This handsome Luigi Franchi Condor 12 gauge Pigeon gun is a true sidelock and has great engraving on the frame and sidelocks as well as a gold pigeon inlaid on the top rib. The Condor is the sidelock model just below the Imperiale sidelock. With used prices on the Imperial Monte Carlo starting at $12,500 it makes the Condor model a great buy! The engraving is sharp and well executed as is the hand stippling on the top rib. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, bushed firing pins, and manual safety. Great mechanical condition. Overall weight is 7lb 5oz. *** The 72 cm(28.35”) chopperlump barrels are made of Vickers Supercromatto steel and are chambered for 70 mm(2-3/4”) cartridges. They have a raised solid hand stippled top rib that tapers from 7/16” at the breech end to 1/4” at the muzzle. The right barrel is bored 0.731 and has Briley chokes. The left barrel is bored 0.730 and also is threaded for Briley tubes. The five Briley tubes are 0.005, 0.010, 0.015, 0.020 and 0.030 with choke wrench. Bluing is in very good condition with a few handling marks. *** The straight grip stock and forearm are made of strong and nicely figured European walnut. The flat top checkering shows slight wear. The stock dimensions are 14-7/8” over a 1” brown Pachmayr recoil pad by 1-1/4” by 1-3/4”. Cast off for the righthand shot. *** This is a great Italian-made side-by-side pigeon gun manufactured in 1952. Comes with all paperwork including original receipt, guarantee, proof certificate, Vicker’s Steel certificate, and Franchi shotgun catalog. *** This is a great gun purpose-built for pigeon shooting and capable of handling modern ammunition. Also great for trap or clays. Beautiful and solid. Great mechanical and cosmetic condition.
