CIVIL WAR GALLAGER OR GALLAGER’S U.S. PATENT .50 CAL. PERCUSSION CAVALRY CARBINE CIRCA 1863. 22 ¼” barrel with the original front and rear sights. Very good plus to fine example with all the original parts including all the screws in nice condition. Excellent lock markings with crisp “GALLAGER’S PATENT/JILY 17TH, 1860” stamp and “MANUFACTURED BY/RICHARDSON & OVERMAN/PHILADA”. Original grey metal patina and stock with all the original finish. Nice patchbox screws. Working order and fine bore. Famously used by four Ohio Volunteer Cavalry Regiments as well as units from Tennessee and West Virginia.
