Description:
The Browning A-Bolt Medallion Model II was the firm's finest A-Bolt rifle model. Featuring an engraved receiver with a high-gloss blue finish on all of the metal matched with a gloss finished and checkered Walnut stock, the A-Bolt Medallion II has classy good looks to match the superior accuracy and performance that the standard A-Bolt model line is well-known for. The standard A-Bolt and the Medallion features a quick 60 degree bolt throw, a factory-installed adjustable trigger, a hidden detachable magazine accessed thru the hinged floorplate, and a top tang-mounted thumb safety. This particular rifle was made in 1996 and has the optional factory "BOSS" system on it's 24" inch barrel giving the barrel an overall length of 26" inches. The BOSS system is an adjustable harmonic barrel damper that fine tunes the barrel vibrations to best match the load you are using, resulting in increased accuracy potential, particularly in long range shooting. This rifle is in good condition overall, with excellent mechanics. The gloss blue factory finish shows only scattered minor handling marks and very little actual wear. The bore in this Medallion II is mirror-bright and spotless, with nice strong and sharp rifling throughout. The original factory gloss-finished Walnut stock is in good shape overall but shows lots of small dings/dents/handling marks. The stock is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and the checkered panels on the pistol grip and forearm are still clean and crisp. The factory installed Browning-branded recoil pad is in excellent shape, and is perfectly fit to the stock. As you can see from the pictures, these handling marks do not detract too much from the attractive overall appearance of the rifle. It is very obvious that this rifle was carried a great deal more than it was actually fired, and many of these marks were likely caused by being stored in a overcrowded safe. All of the controls on this Browning are in perfect working order, and the bolt action is slick and precise when worked. This Browning A-Bolt Medallion II would be the perfect rifle for someone wanting a high-class wood and blued steel hunting rifle. Chambered in the potent and flat-shooting 7mm Remington Magnum cartridge this rifle would be capable of taking any North American big game, whether near or far!
