Description:
Very good to excellent Remington 1903, not 03A3, guaranteed to be a genuine, all GI rifle. The butt stock is a very good to excellent condition, WWII manufacture S type replacement  with the cartouche and inspector markings appropriate for a post-war Augusta Arsenal rebuild. The stock set is in vg+ to excellent condition and all markings are original but appear to be have been lightly struck (no sign of sanding). What I believe to be the original 4-groove barrel is marked RA 1-42 (poorly stamped 11-42?). The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and well defined. There is very little apparent wear but there is some light, scattered roughness in spots. Still in all, the bore is in solid vg condition and should shoot well. The stock furniture and butt plate are milled, and the trigger guard is stamped. The bolt body is marked with an R and a punch mark. The typical gallery markings are present and it appears to retain the original, very dark parkerized finish. The bolt shroud is marked with an R, as are the safety, and both barrel bands bands. This rifle appears to have been rebuilt at the Augusta Arsenal sometime  between the end of WWII and its closing in 1955. The webb sling is in excellent condition and is marked MRT JUNE 1952 - it too is guaranteed to be original G I issue. This handsome rifle would make a nice addition to any WWII era military collection and also has the potential to be a very good shooter as well. There is a 3-day, non firing, no disassembly inspection period starting from the time of delivery to your FFL holder. All returns must be recieved in the exact same condition in which they were originally sent to the buyer. Buyer pays all shipping and FFL transfer fees. As with all vinatage firearms, this rifle should be checked by a competent gunsmith before being fired. There is no shooting warranty on any used gun sale. Shooter safety is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Thanks for your interest. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. S&I are a flat $45.00 in the lower 48 states plus $35,00 FFL fee.
