Colt Mdl 1851 Navy, Cal .36 Perc. Ser 1360XX.
Just a lovely old warhorse that came from an old estate and is nice condition for the collector that doesn't want to mortgage the ranch to own one. The gun has an overall aged silver patina.There is no real evidence it had any dings or rust other than just the usual slight patches of pin pricks. The cylinder scene has faded. The nipples and the chambers show very little if any use. The frame, cylinder rod, trigger guard, backstrap, barrel and loading lever all match. The brass parts have a similar soft aged patina and do not show any damage.
The walnut grips have retained about 85+% of the original lacquer with no chips, dings or splits. The gun locks up tight, indexes and fires properly. The bore is quite bright with sharp well defined rifling and just a bit of light frost.
A lovely example of a Civil War icon a great value and quite modestly priced for the less than the very critical collector or re-enactor. And as always we guarantee you will be pleased with your purchase...SHIPPED...$1895.
