Description:
U.S. Model 1861 Contract Musket “Trenton” marked. Contract was by J.T. Hedge and A.M. Burton of Trenton, N.J. Lock is dated 1863. Metal has a gray patina and shows traces of armory bright finish. Barrel has areas of pitting on the surface by the nipple. Stock shows usage and has a crack on the left side by the upper lock plate screws. Musket looks to have seen action!
