Evans Transitional Sporting Rifle. Manufactured 1876-1877. 28” Scarce octagon barrel marked “Evens repeating rifle/ Merhank Falls, ME, Pat Dec 8, 1868 & Sept 16, 1871”. There is an area of pitting near front sight. Action works perfectly. Stocks are good with nicks and dings, no cracks. Bore has strong rifling with a minor are of pitting. Very good overall condition.
