Description:
NSN, .577 Snider, 36 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle was built on an 1862 dated, Enfield marked musket, and has an overall smooth plum-brown patina along the barrel, and original bright blue along the wood border. There are spots of mild freckling, and muted color case-hardening along the LSA Co. marked breechblock and lock. The brass trigger guard and nosecap have a mild yellow-ochre patina throughout, while the walnut stock has been refinished to excellent condition, having almost no handling marks or surface blemishes. The London Armory, 1863 date cartouche is still legible on the right side of the butt, and a slightly bent ramrod is included. An incorrect firing pin protector is chained to the trigger guard. The action lock-up is tight and fully functional, and this is a nice Snider in about very good condition overall. Antique
