Description:
Serial #178963, .38 S&W, 3 1/4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a great looking revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, and latch with the metal retaining 90-92% of the original blue finish with most of the loss occuring on the cylinder where the blue has flaked to dark plum-brown metal. The cylinder also has a mild turn-ring, and some surface scratches and small spots of freckling are present on the frame and barrel. The trigger has excellent original color case-hardening remaining, and the original pinned front sight was milled down for greater visibility. The S&W checkered hard rubber grips are likewise in excellent condition with only some very minor handling marks and very little flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight with no lateral play in the hinge, and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a splendid .38 “Lemon-Squeezer", and is in excellent overall condition. FFL or C&R
