Description:
An uncommon trade gun with a barrel from an East Indian Company Musket. This piece shows the 4 over heart EIC logo on the 39 1/2" barrel. The finis typical trade with crown at the rear and a 1863 date over tower. The lock shows strong original color. The hammer, drum and nipple are very sound. The overall length is 53" , the stock is the original 1/2 stock configuration with an unusual box 1 carved in the side flat on the left side (storage, security or transport container). This piece shows a sound rib with only the front rod retainer missing. The rod is the original with the brass fittings at both ends. This is an unusual trade piece that utilized an original East India Co barrel. Condition not a common patter of trade gun as usually found in North America. Antique
