1961 1ST YEAR SMITH & WESSON MODEL 52 (NO DASH) .38 WADCUTTER BULLSEYE PISTOL W/ OPTIC. Serial number "5049X" being the first year of production(started with "50000") and one of the first 3,500 made. Also has the distinction of having it's original two piece barrel weights stamped 'Smith & Wesson". Original adjustable rear sight included(removed to fit rail for 4 Dot/ Ultra Dot optic). Two original mags come with gun(have additional four original mags that can be purchased separately-$120 each). Double action locked off with crisp single action break to trigger. Functions smooth as butter. Original blue brilliant(bare metal u see in photo of top of slide is missing from alloy rail-not slide). Two sets of original grips. Grip tape(skateboard tape) placed on front strap(will come off but feels good). Original barrel with ".38 Special/ Mid-Range" on barrel. Besides the amazing original finish the only anomoly is the additional holes drilled into slide on top to accommodate rail for optic. Still I'm sure does not take away from it's a legendary accuracy. Comes with extra coil spring and leaf spring. In after market black plastic case.
