SUPERIOR CHARLES OSBORNE & CO. LONDON 4 BORE HAMMER BREECH LOADING UNDER-LEVER SHOTGUN CA. 1870’S-80’S. 56” o/a with 39” Damascus round octagon breech barrel engraved “CHAS. OSBORNE & CO. 7 WHITEHALL PLACE LONDON”. Scroll engraved back action lock, frame, barrel and mounts. Maker name on lock. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock and checkered forend with horn forend cap. Fine condition overall for one of these rare early breech loading market fowlers. Shows use but still has nice metal with traces of case co;ors and Damascus finish. Wood with boat dents and missing the pad which has disintegrated. Perfect working order and very tight. Excellent bore. Extra nice quality and condition.
