Description:
This is a Winchester 1886 rilfe in .45-70. The serial number dates to 1887. The receiver has Good to Very Good patina with a few patches of minor pitting. The 26 inch octagon barrel has Good to Very Good patina with a few handling marks on the top barrel flat and minor pitting on the left side near the muzzle. The bore shows pitting with visible rifling. The full length magazine tube is undented with pitting on the left side near the muzzle. Wood is Good to Very Good. At some time a set of sling swivels were installed.
