U.S. Model 1841 Mississippi Rifle by Whitney. Lock is dated 1851. Original correct barrel. Very fine condition with most of the original brown and traces of case colors on the lock. Wood is very good; it has been lightly refinished, yet the cartouches are still visible. Just forward of the butt plate is a museum inventory tag. Top notch condition Mississippi rifle!
