The Rifles Inc. Lightweight Strata is built around a lightened and blueprinted Remington 700 action. Properly scoped, it only weighs in right around 7 lb.The 7mm Shooting Times Westerner is a 1970s creation of famed outdoorsman and writer, Layne Simpson. Using the 8mm Rem. Mag. as the parent case, he necked it down by 1 mm, creating a potent long range javelin for medium-sized game. Here in the Northwest, it's ideal for sheep, mountain goats, pronghorn, and high country mule deer. Down in the Southeast, it's right at home anchoring whitetails and hogs on the far side those vast clearcuts and Mr. Jarrett's South Carolina bean fields. If ordering from the manufacturer count on $3550 plus you supply the action.

Metal Condition: Shows very good factory finish with minor wear from field use.
Bore Condition: Bore looks good, overall, but to my eye the lands in the throat look a little soft.
Barrels: 25" including brake. Match grade stainless steel with Graphite Black Cerakote
Stock: Hand laminated blend of Kevlar/Graphite and Boron, pillar glass bedded. Color is a brownish-olive.
