Classical English breech loader,SN-4787, with 42" full choke damascus barrel, Jones under lever, and non-rebounding lock.Barrel engraved Holland and Holland,98 New Bond St., London. London proofs and re-proofs onbarrel flats,including "3 1/2 tons/in". Breech chamber is 4"x1.08", Lop=14", Dh=2.25", Dc=1.625",Wt.=12lbs-10oz..Capable of delivering 4 oz."00" buckshot at 200 yards.Beautifully checkered stock with bone tipped forestock,1" red butt pad,and silver escutcheon aft of grip. Custom made for Mr. Pratt, and sold on 18 Jan.1878 as verified on page # 57 of "Howell and Howell History" by D. Dallas. Not warranted for shooting. Rare, beautiful,excellent condition.
