Manufactured in 2014 by Winchester in partnership wih Midway, there were 500 total of these rifles made all in .280 Remington which had never been offered in the Super Grade Model 70 before. These rifles were intended as "prize" rifles, only to be acquired thru a raffle or drawing. You could not just call and order one from a dealer, as they were not made available to dealers to simply resell at retail. This example of this very scarce rifle is in unfired and mint like-new condition. It was acquired new and put into storage until now. The rifle features all of the normal Super Grade attributes including a high-gloss blue factory finish and 24" inch barrel with no iron sights. The triggerguard and hinged floorplate are also high gloss blue and the floorplate is stamped "Super Grade". The stock is a beautiful deluxe Walnut stock with hand-cut checkering and factory inletted sling swivel bases, a Pachmayer recoil pad, and a blued steel pistol grip cap. As mentioned before, this rifle is in "as new" condition. The factory blue finish is spectacular and rates 100% with no wear, scracthes, dings, or handling marks. The rifle is unfired since leaving the factory with a minty bright bore. The rifling is crisp and sharp and there are no visible imperfections whatsoever. The stock is also in excellent like-new condition. It is free from any wear, dings, scratches, or repairs. It is an ideal piece of Walnut with lots of swirl and figure in the buttstock but straight and strong grain thru the wrist. The factory recoil pad was expertly fit to the wood as were the sling swivel bases. This 1 of 500 Super Grade is 100% like the day it left the factory. The action is super slick and smooth, going into battery perfectly with no slop. The "MOA" adjustable trigger is superb. It is very precise, breaking like glass with minimal poundage on the factory settings. All of the controls on this rifle function perfectly. This rifle comes with the original box with an intact end-label serial numbered to the rifle, the Styrofoam inserts, and all of the paperwork including the owner's manual. This 1 of 500 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade is truly a collector grade piece that deserves a place in any serious Winchester rifle collection. The limited production of this particular model should make it an excellent long-term investment, and it would be impossible to find one more complete or in better condition.
